TecTopics: Roofer's Bucket for Inspections
Did you know that during roof inspections, applicators are allowed to make on-the-spot repairs? Carlisle recommends that applicators have a “roofer’s bucket” handy at inspections in case repairs are necessary. Below are our suggestions for materials you should have in your bucket.
Roofer’s Bucket for EPDM Projects
- Weathered Membrane Cleaner
- Splice wipes
- Primer
- PS Elastoform and PS Cured Cover Strip
- 2" steel or silicone hand roller
- Scissors
- Lap sealant
- Caulk gun
As the temperatures drop with the changing seasons, make sure to use a heat gun to warm the PS Elastoform on the flashing side (not on the pre-applied tape side) prior to application.
Roofer’s Bucket for TPO Projects
- TPO Membrane Cleaner
- Splice wipes
- Scotch-Brite™ pads
- Small roll of non-reinforced TPO flashing
- Scrap piece of reinforced TPO membrane (must match thickness of roof membrane)
- Heat welder
- 2" silicone roller
- TPO Cut-Edge Sealant
Roofer’s Bucket for PVC Projects
- PVC Membrane Cleaner
- Splice wipes
- Scotch-Brite pads
- Small roll of non-reinforced PVC flashing
- Scrap piece of PVC membrane (must match thickness of roof membrane)
- Heat welder
- 2" silicone roller
- PVC Cut-Edge Sealant

TecTopics: 16-foot TPO
Contractors who use 16-foot rolls have fewer rolls to load, stage, position, and kick out, and the rolls are in 2-packs for easy stacking, storage, and trucking. Wider rolls also mean fewer seams and T-joints to weld. This all translates to quicker job completion.
